Procedure for requesting accessibility
Everyone has the right to request that the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application, or a specific element of them be ensured. It is also possible to request that information be made available through an alternative means of access, for example by reading out a digitally inaccessible document or by describing the content of a video without audio description. The request should include: the personal details of the person submitting the request, an indication of the website or mobile application concerned, a method of contact. If the requesting person requires information to be provided through an alternative means of access, they should also indicate the preferred method of receiving the information. The public body should fulfil the request without undue delay and no later than within 7 days from the date of submission. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the public body will promptly inform the applicant when the request can be fulfilled. This deadline may not exceed 2 months from the date of submission of the request. If ensuring digital accessibility is not possible, the public body may propose an alternative method of accessing the information. If the public body refuses to ensure accessibility or provide an alternative means of access, the person submitting the request may file a complaint regarding the digital accessibility of the website, mobile application, or their elements. After exhausting the above procedure, a complaint may also be submitted to the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman).
