Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy defines the rules for collecting and storing Users’ personal data and accessing information stored on Users’ devices for the purpose of providing services electronically via the Online Collection portal.
Definitions
“CMWL” – the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, with its registered office at Piotrkowska 282, 93-034 Łódź, Poland.
“Online Collection portal” – the portal kolekcja.cmwl.pl – the virtual resources of the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, where objects from the CMWL collections are presented, including in the form of digitised images of objects.
“User” – any person who uses the Online Collection portal in any manner.
“Resource(s)” – all graphic, multimedia and audio materials published on the Online Collection portal. The “Description” field concerning an object is considered a work and is protected under copyright law.
“Administrator” – the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź.
General information
- The publisher and owner of the Online Collection portal is the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź.
- By using the portal, the User accepts the rules set out in this Privacy Policy.
- The portal collects information about Users and their behaviour in the following ways:
a. through information voluntarily provided by Users in forms,
b. by storing cookies on Users’ end devices,
c. by collecting web server logs by the hosting provider operating the website kolekcja.cmwl.pl. - Browsing the portal content is free of charge and does not require registration.
- Ordering digital images of museum objects via the portal requires the User to provide personal data in a form. These data are used for the purpose of concluding an agreement and making payment via bank transfer or the PayU payment operator.
- Users have the right to access and modify the personal data they have provided.
- Users may request the deletion of their personal data at any time.

Personal data
- The controller of Users’ personal data is CMWL, which processes such data in accordance with applicable law, in particular the Act of 10 May 2018 on the Protection of Personal Data (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1000).
- CMWL processes personal data voluntarily provided by Users and for which they have given consent, as well as data collected automatically, such as IP addresses.
- CMWL does not use personal data for purposes other than those for which consent has been granted.
- CMWL may disclose personal data only to entities authorised under applicable law, including competent public authorities.
- For payment processing purposes, personal data will be shared with PayU SA and the banking operator VELOBANK SA, which act as independent data controllers.
- Personal data contained in cookies are processed pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), i.e. processing necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller. These interests relate to analysing website traffic and usage.
- Users have the rights provided under data protection regulations, including in particular the right to: access their personal data at any time, rectify their personal data, request deletion of their personal data, correct errors and supplement or update their personal data.
Information about cookies
- The Online Collection portal uses cookies.
- Cookies are IT data, in particular text files, stored on the User’s device and intended for use with the portal’s websites. Cookies usually contain the name of the website from which they originate, the time they are stored on the User’s device, and a unique number.
- The entity placing cookies on the User’s device and accessing them is the Administrator of the Online Collection portal.
- Cookies are used to create statistics that help understand how Users interact with the portal’s websites, enabling improvements to their structure and content.
- Within the Online Collection portal, two main types of cookies are used: session cookies, persistent cookies. Session cookies are temporary files stored on the User’s device until they log out, leave the website, or close the web browser. Persistent cookies are stored on the User’s device for the time specified in the cookie parameters or until they are deleted by the User.
- Web browsing software (web browsers) usually allows cookies to be stored on the User’s device by default. Users may change these settings.
- Web browsers allow cookies to be deleted and also enable automatic blocking of cookies. Detailed information can be found in the browser’s help or documentation.
- Restricting the use of cookies may affect some functionalities available on the portal’s websites.
